Dear Diary,
It's hard to believe we've already been here for ten days. We've been so busy I lost track of time.
When we arrived, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. Elspeth Stewart, the one who founded the Coven, is terrific.
She looks all grandmotherly with her white hair and blue eyes, but she's got this great sense of humor.
And she tells stories that are really funny, but aren't at all the kind of thing you expect your grandmother to know anything about.
She took one look at Buffy and told her she needed to work in the vegetable garden.
We all just kind of looked at each because we know that all Buffy knows about vegetables is they come from the supermarket.
But Giles told Buffy that Elspeth is the most powerful seer he's ever met, so she went along with playing Ms. Greenjeans.
And you know what? She loves it!
She works in the gardens with Lessa Nightsong. Isn't that a great name?
It used to be Jane Plunkett but she decided she needed something more mystical being a witch wannabe and all.
She's about Buffy's age and has only been here a little longer than us.
She and Buffy have gotten to be really good friends, but she's still a little shy around Willow.
I think that's because everyone in the Coven knows how powerful Willow is.
Lessa's spells sometimes (ok, most of the time) don't work like they're supposed to.
I've tried to tell her that Willow's spells used to go all klabooey, too. But, hey, you channel
magical primeval energy forces, awake hundred of slayers to help save the world and people get all impressed.
Lessa and Xander are great buddies. She laughs at all his jokes - even the really stupid ones - and they both like the same kind of books.
Last Saturday morning, Lessa and I got up really early before everyone else so we could watch Bugs Bunny cartoons.
But you know the very best thing about her? She never treats me like a kid!
